Special Scholarship Scheme for J&K and Ladakh Students (SSSJKL): The All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), under the Ministry of Education, Government of India, has launched the Special Scholarship Scheme for Students of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh (SSSJKL) for the academic year 2025-26. This is a government initiative under this scheme to support students of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh who have completed their Diploma in Engineering in the academic year 2024-25. It provides financial assistance of up to Rs. 1.25 lakh per annum towards hostel fees, mess charges, books and other necessary expenses for admission to lateral entry (second year) in engineering degree courses. Online registration for the academic year 2025-26 for students interested in lateral entry (second year) admission in the engineering stream has started from 14 July 2025. SSSJKL Scholarship Scheme 2025-26 Eligibility Criteria

• Must have passed a Diploma in Engineering in the academic year 2024-25.
• The diploma must be from the Jammu & Kashmir Board of Technical Education.
• Should be seeking Lateral Entry (Direct 2nd Year Admission) in an Engineering Degree Course.
• Must be a permanent resident of Jammu & Kashmir or Ladakh.
• Admission should be taken for the academic year 2025-26 against vacant seats of 2024-25.
• Annual family income should be Rs.1.00 lakh or less.

Resident:

The student must be a permanent resident of Jammu and Kashmir or the Union Territory of Ladakh. Must have passed Diploma in Engineering in the academic year 2024-25. Must have passed Diploma from Jammu and Kashmir Board of Technical Education. Must have sought lateral entry (direct admission to second year) in an Engineering degree course. Must have taken admission for the academic year 2025-26 against the vacant seats in the academic year 2024-25.

Special Scholarship Scheme for J&K and Ladakh Students 2025-26 Amount:

Eligible students can get up to Rs 1.25 lakh per year. This amount is given in 10 equal installments and is given to meet hostel fees, mess charges, books, stationery and other incidental expenses required during the course of studies.

Annual Family Income:

This scholarship is only for permanent residents of Jammu and Kashmir or the Union Territory of Ladakh. The annual family income of the student should not exceed Rs. 1.00 lakh. Those whose family income exceeds this limit are not eligible for the scholarship.
