Jharkhand State Pre & Post Matric Scholarship 2025

Jharkhand Pre and Post-Matric Scholarship, which provides financial assistance to students belonging to Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), and Other Backward Classes (OBC) for pursuing education at the pre-matric and post-matric levels. This scholarship is administered by the Scheduled Tribes, Scheduled Castes, Minorities and Backward Classes Welfare Department, Government of Jharkhand. Pre-matric scholarship is for students from class I to X and post-matric scholarship is for students pursuing higher education after matriculation. Jharkhand State Pre & Post Matric Scholarship 2025 Eligibility Criteria

To apply for Jharkhand State Pre-Matric and Post-Matric Scholarships, the student must be a permanent resident of Jharkhand and belong to the Scheduled Tribe (ST), Scheduled Caste (SC), or Other Backward Classes (OBC) category. For Pre-Matric Scholarships, students must be studying from class 1 to 10 in a government or recognized school. For Post-Matric Scholarships, students must be studying class 11 or above (including diploma, graduation or post-graduation courses) in a recognized institution. Students must have a caste certificate, income certificate, and Aadhaar-linked bank account to be eligible for the scholarship.

Resident:

The student must be a permanent resident of Jharkhand and belong to the Scheduled Tribe (ST), Scheduled Caste (SC), or Backward Class (BC) category. For pre-matric scholarship, students must have studied from class 1 to 10 in a government or recognized school. For post-matric scholarship, students must have studied from class 11 or above (including diploma, graduation or post-graduation courses) in a recognized institution.

Annual Family Income: 

The student must be a permanent resident of Jharkhand and belong to the Scheduled Tribe (ST), Scheduled Caste (SC), or Backward Class (BC) category. For SC/ST/OBC students, the annual family income should not exceed Rs.2.5 lakh. They will be eligible to apply.

Jharkhand State Scholarship 2025 Amount:

Pre-Matric -

Class 1–5:

  • Day Scholar: Rs.1,500 per year
  • Hosteller: Rs.1,500 per year

Class 6–8:

  • Day Scholar: Rs.2,500 per year
  • Hosteller: Rs.2,000 per year

Class 9–10:

  • Day Scholar: Rs.4,500 per year
  • Hosteller: Rs.4,500 per year

Post-Matric (Class 11 onwards) -

Group 1A:

  • Hosteller: Rs.1,00,000 (Per Year)
  • Day Scholar: Rs.90,000 (Per Year)

This is the highest benefit category, usually for students in medical, engineering, or top professional courses.

Group 1B:

  • Hosteller: Rs.90,000 (Per Year)
  • Day Scholar: Rs.85,000 (Per Year)

Given to professional degree holders in slightly lower fee categories than Group 1A.

Group 1C:

  • Hosteller: Rs.85,000 (Per Year)
  • Day Scholar: Rs.80,000 (Per Year)

For other technical degree courses, possibly including B.Sc. Nursing, BCA, etc.

Group 2A:

  • Hosteller: Rs.75,000 (Per Year)
  • Day Scholar: Rs.70,000 (Per Year)

Courses like general graduation courses (BA, B.Com, B.Sc).

Group 2B:

  • Hosteller: Rs.70,000 (Per Year)
  • Day Scholar: Rs.65,000 (Per Year)

Includes diploma or other vocational courses.

Group 2C:

  • Hosteller: Rs.65,000 (Per Year)
  • Day Scholar: Rs.60,000 (Per Year)

For non-professional diploma/ certificate courses.

Group 3:

  • Hosteller: Rs.45,000 (Per Year)
  • Day Scholar: Rs.40,000 (Per Year)

Covers courses of lower tuition cost, possibly short-term or certificate-based.

Group 4:

  • Hosteller: Rs.35,000 (Per Year)
  • Day Scholar: Rs.30,000 (Per Year)

Usually for ITI courses, skill development programs, or low-fee educational paths.
