Chandigarh Scholarship 2026 All Scholarship Name & Other Details

Indian Council for Cultural Relations Scholarship -

The Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) Scholarship is a government-funded program that provides financial assistance to international students from over 180 countries to pursue undergraduate, postgraduate and PhD courses at Indian universities. The scholarship promotes cultural exchange and strengthens India's ties with other countries through education. It covers tuition fees, living allowance, medical benefits and sometimes airfare.

Eligibility:

• Applicants must be citizens of one of the countries officially covered by ICCR scholarship schemes, as determined by bilateral or multilateral agreements.
• For Undergraduate (UG) courses: you must have successfully completed the 12th standard or equivalent secondary school certificate.
• For Postgraduate (PG), M.Phil, or Ph.D. courses: you must hold a relevant bachelor’s or master’s degree with a strong academic record, as per university requirements.
• Proficiency in English is mandatory, since most Indian universities teach in English.
• Each applicant can apply to up to three universities under ICCR, and only one course can be pursued during the scholarship.
• Must select state or central public universities in India.

Amount:

Monthly Stipend (Scholarship Money) -

• Undergraduate (UG): Rs.18,000 per month
• Postgraduate (PG): Rs.20,000 per month
• M.Phil / Ph.D.: Rs.22,000 per month
• Post-Doctoral: Rs.25,000 per month

House Rent Allowance (HRA) -

You also get extra money for staying in a hostel or rented house:

• Rs.5,500 per month (normal city)
• Rs.6,500 per month (Grade-1 city like Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, etc.)

This amount is given once a year to help buy study materials:

• UG: Rs.5,000 per year
• PG: Rs.7,000 per year
• M.Phil / Ph.D: Rs.12,500 per year
• Post-Doctoral: Rs.15,500 per year

This is a one-time amount for printing and binding your final project or thesis:

• Rs.10,000 for Ph.D. students
• Rs.7,000 for PG courses like MBA, M.Tech, etc. (if project submission is required)

Post Matric Scholarship for SC/ST Students -

Post-Matric Scholarship for Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe Students is a central government-funded scheme aimed at helping Scheduled Caste (SC) and Scheduled Tribe (ST) students continue their education after Class 10. This scholarship is applicable to students studying in Class 11, Class 12, Undergraduate, Postgraduate and other higher education courses in recognized institutions. This scheme provides financial assistance towards tuition fees, maintenance allowance and other educational expenses.

Eligibility:

• The student must belong to the Scheduled Caste (SC) or Scheduled Tribe (ST) community.
• Must be a resident of the respective state/UT where applying for the scholarship.
• Must be studying in Class 11 or above (including graduation, post-graduation, diploma, professional and technical courses).

Scholarship to the disabled students pursuing studies from Class IX onwards -

Scholarship for Students with Disabilities studying from Class IX is a financial assistance scheme provided by the Chandigarh Administration to help students with disabilities continue their education. The aim of this scholarship is to encourage students with disabilities to continue their studies beyond Class VIII without facing financial difficulties. • The student must be a resident of Chandigarh.

Award of Scholarship out of P.U. Students’ Relief Fund -

Scholarship from P.U. Students Relief Fund is a financial aid scheme provided by the University of Punjab to help students facing financial difficulties during their academic career. The objective of this scholarship is to provide financial assistance to deserving and needy students admitted to various courses of the university to meet their educational expenses.

Eligibility:

• The student must be a bonafide student of Panjab University or its affiliated colleges.
• The student should come from a financially weak background and must be in need of financial assistance.
• The student must have a satisfactory academic record and should not have failed in the previous examination.
• Students already receiving major scholarships or financial aid from other sources may not be eligible (as per university rules).

Amount:

• Rs. 400 per month

Sanskrit Scholarship -

Sanskrit Scholarship is given to meritorious students who have studied Sanskrit in 10+2 examination and have chosen Sanskrit as an optional subject in B.A. First year. This scholarship is available to B.A. First, Second and Third year students, subject to the approval and grant of the Rashtriya Sanskrit Sansthan, New Delhi. Its objective is to promote Sanskrit education among undergraduate students.

Eligibility:

• Must have studied Sanskrit as a subject in 10+2.
• Must have taken Sanskrit as an elective subject in B.A. I.
• The scholarship is available for students in B.A. I, II, and III.
• The student must be meritorious as per the criteria set by Rashtriya Sanskrit Sansthan, New Delhi.

Amount:

• Rs.3,000/- per year.

Award of P.U. Sports Stipend -

P.U. (Punjab University) Sports Stipend is awarded to outstanding student-athletes who represent the university in recognized sports events. This stipend encourages talented students to actively participate in sports as well as continue their education. It is usually awarded on the basis of performance in inter-university, inter-college or national level sports competitions.

Eligibility:

• The student must be a student of the Punjab University or its affiliated colleges.
• They must have actively participated in sports events, especially at the inter-university, national or higher level.
• The performance must be recognized by the Punjab University Sports Department.
• The student should maintain good academic standing and discipline during the course.

Post Matric Scholarship for SC/ST Students (Special Case) -

The sanction of scholarship to students whose earning parents die under the Centrally Sponsored Post Matric Scholarship Scheme for Scheduled Castes/Scheduled Tribes students is a helpful step. National Merit Scholarship DPI (C) Punjab -

National Merit Scholarship (DPI‑(C)), Punjab is a merit-based award provided by the Punjab Directorate of Public Instruction under the state scholarship framework.
